Maurice Ephrati, David Joory, Sandy Koifman and Ariel Arazi founded Bedrock in 2004; the ambition was to create one of the first independent investment boutiques providing global investment and advisory capabilities.
Today Bedrock has offices in London, Geneva, Zurich and Monaco and a team of 100 investment professionals who oversee over US$10 billion of client assets. In 2015, Bedrock was ranked 3rd in Europe and 25th globally in the Bloomberg Family office rankings.

From 2000 to 2004, Ariel was with the Safra Family Office in Geneva where he co-managed the financial assets of the family and the foundation with David. He started his career in 1993 with the Republic National Bank of New York in Switzerland as a proprietary trader and went on to join the treasury team where he co-managed - with David and Sandy - a portfolio of Fixed Income, FX and Emerging Market debt of more than USD 10 billion.
He graduated from the University of Geneva in 1992 with a degree in Business and Economics.
From 2000 to 2004, Maurice served on the Private Banking Executive Board of Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild in Geneva. Previously, Maurice worked for four years at the Union Bancaire Privée in Geneva as a senior member of management, where he was in charge of several private banking divisions as well as the Family Office Operation. From 1991 to 1996, Maurice was a trader and director at an international commodities trading company. Maurice was a practicing business lawyer in Geneva from 1988 to 1991.
Maurice graduated with honours from law school in 1988 and passed the Bar exam with honours in 1990. He has also completed postgraduate programs in Finance at INSEAD in 1994, and in Financial Asset Management and Engineering (FAME) at HEC, Lausanne in 1997.
From 2000 to 2004, David was with the Safra Family Office in Geneva, where he was responsible for managing the assets of the Edmond J. Safra Philanthropic Foundation as well as the family's financial assets. He started his career in 1988 with the Republic National Bank of New York as an FX trader. In 1993 he moved to the treasury department, where he co-managed - with Sandy and Ariel - the proprietary positions of the group's European arm, Safra Republic Holdings, directly alongside the Chairman Edmond J. Safra.
David graduated from the University of Geneva in 1988 with a degree in Business and Economics.
From 2001 to 2004, Sandy was a Senior Investment Consultant with IRR Capital, managing a portfolio of more than EUR 600 million. Prior to that, Sandy was General Manager of the Republic National Bank of New York (Switzerland), Treasurer of Safra Republic Holdings, Chairman and CEO of the Republic Group's fund management arm and member of Executive, Credit and Treasury Committees. He headed with success the group's proprietary trading activities.
Sandy graduated from New York University Stern School of Business in 1980 with an MBA in Finance, having earned a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv University in 1978.
Alexandra joined Bedrock in 2006. Prior to that, she was with the Edouard Stern Family Office in Geneva from 2001 where she was responsible for managing the treasury and trading activities. She was also the Geneva Branch Administrator. Previously, Alexandra worked for Republic National Bank as an FX Trader where she worked with David and Ariel. She started her career in 1995 in Paris as an interests rates options broker.
Alexandra graduated with honours from law school in 1993. She also completed a postgraduate program from MATIF School in Paris.
Catalin joined Bedrock in 2014 as a portfolio manager. Prior to joining Bedrock, Catalin spent four years with HSBC Private Bank (UK) where he co-managed about USD 2 billion for UHNW discretionary clients. Before joining HSBC, Catalin spent five years with RBC, in the research group selecting active investment managers for long only and hedge fund strategies. Prior to this Catalin worked four years with MDS Capital, a biotechnology venture capital firm in Toronto, being involved in investment valuations and accounting. Catalin has international experience in U.S., Canada and Europe. He started his career managing an emerging markets IPO practice in Romania. He is a British, Canadian and Romanian citizen, fluent in Portuguese. Catalin holds an MBA from Schulich School of Business.
Keyvan joined Bedrock in 2005 from a private equity company where he was a partner between 2000 and 2005. Keyvan was responsible for investment management with an emphasis on an internet BtoB platform.
Prior to that, Keyvan was an internal audit associate for Union Bancaire Privée in Geneva. He managed the team auditing the Private Banking, Trading and FX desks, as well as the asset management department for the various offices (Geneva, London, New York, Nassau). Keyvan was strongly involved in all compliance and procedure issues for both firms.
Keyvan is a graduate of the Geneva Law School.
Eric joined Bedrock in 2015 from the private banking and asset management industry where he was the managing director in Financial, Operational and Family Office sectors. Eric also spent 7 years within the Exane Group, supervising overall operations in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. Prior to joining the Finance industry, he spent several years in the commodities trading industry mainly in business development in Asia and Latin America.
Eric graduated in Economy and Business Administration from the University of Applied Sciences in Western Switzerland, Neuchâtel. He has also completed a postgraduate program in Finance at INSEAD.
Charlotte joined Bedrock in July 2014 from Commerzbank, where she worked in Fixed income sales and covered Swiss and French clients. Her prior engagements include the provision and management of structured & funds solutions for institutional clients at Nomura and Lehman Brothers. Charlotte holds a MSc. in Finance from ESCP-EAP and a BSc. in Business Administration & Finance from the Université Paris Dauphine of Paris.
Corinne joined Bedrock in May 2015 from BNP Paribas Wealth Management where she was in charge for the Middle East and North Africa , Turkey and C.I.S. area as Investment Solutions Manager.
Prior to that, Corinne spent 12 years at HSBC Private Bank Monaco as Deputy Director in Private Banking for the Middle East & Europe.
From her tenure with these two major institutions she acquired an experience in dealing with an international clientele and providing them with global and comprehensive financial and wealth management solutions.
She graduated from the University of Bordeaux Montaigne with a Master’s degree in Business, Finance & International Trade.
From 2000 to 2011 , Jihad headed the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) platform at HSBC Private Bank Monaco.Prior to this, he worked for Republic National Bank of New York starting in NY in 1987 and moving to Monaco in 1989 until the HSBC takeover in 2000. At Republic he helped set up the equity and Bond trading desk and in the process developed friendships with Ariel, David and Sandy.
Jihad has a degree in Civil Engineering from Rice University in Houston, and a Masters in Structural Design from Columbia University in New York.
Louise joined Bedrock in 2013 from VistaJet , a private aviation company, where she was a Senior Vice President responsible for successfully developing sales to the key Scandinavian and Eastern European markets. Previously she worked as a Senior Consultant at NetJets where she established and developed coverage of HNW clients in Scandinavia and Benelux. Louise graduated from Stockholm University with a BA in Business and Economics.
Laure joined Bedrock in July 2014 and is part of the Portfolio Management team in London. Prior to joining Bedrock, she worked for HSBC Private Bank in Geneva as an Investment Counsellor and for Mirabaud&Cie as an Economist. Laure graduated from Geneva University with a BA in Econometrics in 2002 and a Master in Economics and Finance in 2004. She is a CFA and CAIA charter holder.
Song Wu joined Bedrock in 2015 from Banque Privee Edmond de Rothschild where she was a vice president covering mainland China market from 2011 until 2015. Song was responsible for relationships with Chinese mainland clients. Prior to this, Song was a trust manager for Ping An Insurance Group in China. She managed the a team, building family trusts for wealthy Chinese families, as well as actively managing their assets. Over 2010, She successfully built and managed one of the biggest family trust assets in China.
Song started to work in Switzerland in 2005, attending the University of Zurich as a visiting scholar. In 2006-2009 she started with HSBC Private Banking SA in Zurich and later worked in their headquarters in Geneva.
Song holds a Masters degree in Economics since 2001.
Alexandre is a former trader on the non-ferrous metal market and a former member of the Board of Directors of RAW RESOURCES (based in Moscow), a company that specialisesin the trading of oil, oil-based products and non-ferrous metals. He was also a director and a shareholder of FABULA GMBH and a member of the Board of Directors of EXPONOR SA , both of whom specialisedin the export/import of the non-ferrous metal markets.
Alexandre is currently investing in various projects in the field of mining and mineral processing Alexandre is a graduate of the Faculty of Journalism at the University of Latvia. He is a German citizen and a permanent resident of Switzerland.
Jeff was President, Director and Chairman of the Finance Committee of Republic New York Corporation and Vice Chairman, Director and Member of the Executive Committee of Republic National Bank of New York. At Republic he directed major international and domestic activities and transactions including the sale of the Trade Development Bank to the American Express Company, the launch of Safra Republic Holdings SA and numerous acquisitions and later managed the sale of Republic to HSBC.
He is currently non-executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Knight Vinke Asset Management and a director of BlackRock Institutional Trust Co, N.A. He is also a director of Leucadia National Corp. (NYSE:LUK) and a director of the St.Joe Company (NYSE:JOE).
Jeff received a BSc in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1965. He did graduate studies in mathematical statistics at the London School of Economics in 1965 and 1966 and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1968.
Philippe Perles is a Senior Partner of Noveo Conseil SA, a management-consulting company based in Geneva, Paris and London. He has a 30 years’ track record in Business Consulting, Commodity Trading and Private Banking industries. Philippe has participated in the planning, design, and implementation of large infrastructures for several major banks, financial companies and commodity traders.
Philippe is an Independent Board Member at Bank Edmond de Rothschild (Suisse) SA. He is also an Independent Board Member at Bedrock Realtime SA, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) solutions for Independent Asset Managers, Trust Companies and Private Banks. Philippe is a Board Member at ARIF, Self-regulating organization (SRO) for prevention of Money laundering in the financial sector based on the Money Laundering Act (MLA).
Prior to Noveo Conseil, Philippe was a Principal at Sherwood Alliance, an Arthur D. Little consulting company. Previously, he was also Member of the Management at Crédit Lyonnais (Suisse) SA. His resume includes former various management positions in Private Banking and Trade Finance industries.
Philippe has a degree in Commercial and Industrial Sciences from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He is a native French speaker and is fluent in English.
